“It’s hot, the smog is settled
It’s all stagnant, still, stuffy
Idleness has become a comfortability, a life style
But prayer has erupted over this place, over these people
Persistent prayer, like Elijah. Who prayed for rain and his servant went out 6 times and on the 7th time a small cloud appeared in the distance (1 kings 18:41-45)
‘The sky grew black and heavy rain began to fall’
Rain is coming. Revival is near. Idols will fall
This shower of rain is all around
The smog is lifting. All will see the beauty behind it that wasn’t seen before.
All will know!
He alone is the source of this rain, this living water, this newness
Sit in his light, sit in his overflow (1 John)
‘Idols are fallen and replaced by more of Gods presence during worship’
Worship him!
He’s worthy!
He’s moving!
More of you God is what we want
Pour it out as a shower of rain over a desert land
Pour it out!”
I wrote this poem in Pokhara. The smog was so bad and you couldn’t see the mountains. I had just read that passage in 1 kings talking about Elijah and the rain. At the same time someone from my squad got a message from their mom talking about how God is like a cloud. He rains down his spirit and his presence on his people. I just loved all of those things put together and it fits so perfectly with a prophetic message I’d received months ago from my mentor and sweet friend. So I put it all together in a poem and I hope you enjoy it cause it’s a representation of what Nepal looks like. There’s so much readiness. The harvest is so ripe here! People need to hear about Jesus!! God pour your spirit out on this place!
Nepal is so beautiful! When we first came off the plane and onto our bus, we all felt a lightness. Coming from Europe, where it feels almost colder and was actually colder, to a place that feels lighter and almost like home is a breath of fresh air for all of us. Don’t get me wrong Turkey was a beautiful place full of beautiful people who love Jesus. I learned so much in Turkey which I will talk about later but it’s been good to have new eyes on a new place. This place, reminds me a lot of where I’ve been in Africa and a little bit of Peru mixed in there. This is my first time in Asia and I absolutely love it.
The people here are so hospitable and so kind. The first night we got here they made us a meal, they sang for us and we all felt right at home within the first 12 hours. It’s almost like a home away from home. When people feel like family and when you’re all united in Christ! The town we will be living in for the next month is called Thamel Kathmandu. It’s so easy to meet people here. There are many tourists who are hiking or trekking around the area and locals who are always willing to talk.
Meet buah who is the senior pastor of our church. Such a sweet guy!
The first Saturday being here before our church service, we were walking, and this family was on the side of the street begging and asking for money and food. The Holy Spirit prompted me and said bring them to church so we brought them to church. They were able to listen to the gospel and hear about Jesus. We’ve had many opportunities like this and we’re excited for more opportunities just to invite people to church!
The church here is absolutely amazing and so spirit filled. Seeing people worship, dance and speak for Jesus here in Nepal. To then remember that this is happening all over the world brings me to tears! God is so worthy of worship!! Ugh he’s so good! If you would like to listen in on any of the sermons you can find them on this YouTube link! So good!

Every Wednesday night we have a worship night and then Saturday we have a church service. Sunday is a healing and prophetic service. I am so blessed to be able to sit in on these teachings, to hear them in English and to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit move in the room. These people are on fire for Jesus and we are able to be apart of that!
Not even a couple days of being here my parents came into Nepal! I was completely sick physically, but it was so sweet to have both of them here and I’m really thankful both of them came. When the parent visit was first mentioned in Guatemala, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to invite both of my parents, but it was evident both of them needed to come so I invited both of them. God really moved in the five days they were here in Nepal! As many of you know, my parents have been divorced for almost 10 years and they’ve been growing and healing at their own pace. Who knew that them coming halfway across the world God would heal them even more! God would heal me as well. He emboldened me and grew my faith and prayer life so much while they were here. It is so encouraging to know that my family has been prayed for and to see the fruit of those prayers increased my faith. My family is not perfect, but it’s so sweet knowing that my God is perfect and he has perfect plans. I would mark the parent visit as a time of forgiveness and restoration! I’m so thankful to God for all that he did in those five days and I’m so excited to see what else he has planned for me and my family!
After the parent visit our team headed to Pokhara, on a little bus, six hours through the mountains. The first couple of days I was physically, spiritually, emotionally and mentally exhausted, so I slept and spent time with Jesus! Pokhara is a beautiful place on a nice little lake and I’d like to go back again someday. We were able to have a time of debrief with our coaches who came from back home to see us. It was so nice to see them and to learn from them. To just rest for a second was nice. We also got to explore Pokhara and meet some people!
One day while headed to meet a friend for brunch, I met this Indian man on the road and we stopped and talked about religion for about 30 minutes. I had to go but later one of my teammates and I got to sit down with him and his friend for 3 1/2 hours. We got to share our testimonies, share Jesus‘s love, ask questions, and share the gospel multiple times! Just a little seed planted, but it increased my faith and the truth that Jesus is Messiah! It was also so interesting to hear what he believed as a Buddhist.
Some of my teammates met a blind young man on the side of the street and decided to ask him if they could pray for him, for healing over his eyes. After praying, they share Jesus with him, and he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior right then in there! They keep in contact with him, sending him voice memos, and the gospel of John. A couple days later they went back to see him. He was so excited to see them, share a song he memorized with them and tell them “even though I can’t physically see I see Jesus.” I’ll try and link that video of him singing so people can watch it, but what a crazy testimony of who God is and what he can do and how gracious he is to all his children. Aah it gets me so fired up!!
We got back to Kathmandu on Friday and then had our church services Saturday and Sunday. Mondays are ATL (ask the Lord) days and a couple of us decided to go to a temple. At this temple, there is alive goddess. Before coming to Nepal, we heard about this temple, and it breaks my heart every time I learn more about it or hear about it. This live goddess is a girl who’s three years old right now. She is picked from a very young age and she has to have 50 perfections about her. She’s taken from her family and put through different tests to pass. After passing she lives and learns at this run down temple. She’s worshiped there until she starts her menstrual cycle, around the age of 12 or 13. She’s not allowed to walk and if she ever gets a cut or blemish she has to be replaced by another girl. After her time as goddess, she can never marry and is basically rejected from society. Often these girls leave to go to America and start a new life. This whole thing just breaks my heart and it’s so sad that people are so stuck in false things. Anyway, we went to go visit her temple and pray over this place. You can just feel the heaviness of this area. We met some people who jeered at us and who weren’t fully there spiritually or mentally, but it’s so amazing that we have the power of Jesus to stand in authority over anything, over any power that comes our way. To be able to share that hope with people who are so far from the truth and to be able to walk in that hope is something I’m so thankful for. Also to see and to know that the power of prayer is the greatest thing is an encouragement because it’s nothing we can do for anyone but it’s all that God can do.

We’ve been able to visit different temples and at each temple it’s just so heavy. I’m thankful that we no longer live in the Old covenant and that we live in newness! I say old covenant because many of these places are still living in the Old Testament. In the time of Babylon, in the time of the golden calf and in the time of physical idols.

Over the next month or so will be helping out at a local church. Like I mentioned earlier they’re so on fire for Jesus! We will be helping out at church with greeting, kids ministry, and youth hangouts. During the week, we will be doing house visits often with people who are unable to make it to church because of work or because of distance. We will be able to bring church to them.
This week has been the start of everything and so this morning we had our first soccer hang out! This ministry has been going on for years and we are able to play soccer with believers and unbelievers. To share love outside of a church building.
We will also be working alongside of multiple orphanages. Some Hindu some that are Christian based. This week we visited our first orphanage with 18 kids. The family who runs this orphanage love Jesus and take in kids from mountain villages. Kids who don’t have any parents and kids whose parents don’t want them live with them. They learn English, go to school and ultimately learn about Jesus!
Lastly, we’ll be doing street evangelism and prayer walks through Kathmandu and neighboring cities! At the end of our month, we’re going to a town called Gorca, where the senior pastor of our church lives. Will be camping for a week and living in a small village with no electricity or plumbing. I’m so excited to see what these weeks look like with ministry and I’m so excited to see the Lord move, and grow my faith and understanding of him!
My blogs are just getting to long because I guess I write too much so there is going to be a part 2.
